The Annual Gala – November 21

On Saturday, November 20, the NEJC Chamber will host “The Annual Gala” — an elegant evening of dinner, awards and entertainment at the Marriott Kansas City Overland Park. This annual event is a premier black-tie affair in Northeast Johnson County, welcoming over 350 business and community leaders from the greater metro area . The Annual Gala celebrates our many community successes and honors members whose significant contributions have furthered the Chamber’s vision to connect, build, and grow Northeast Johnson County! All funds raised from this event support the continued efforts of NEJC Chamber in local communities.

Leadership NEJC

Leadership Northeast (NEJC) is a premiere regional leadership program dedicated to connecting communities, building relationships and growing business throughout Northeast Johnson County. Held annually from January to May, the program has graduated over 500 well-connected and involved community and business leaders.

The Golf Classic

The NEJC Golf Classic, held annually at Falcon Ridge Golf Club, is one of Northeast Johnson County’s most anticipated golf tournaments of the year. Among the 200 annual participants are community leaders and business executives taking advantage of a day of fun, prizes, food, drinks, networking opportunities and friendly competition.

NEJC State of the Cites – January 21

This luncheon is the Chamber’s largest annual business networking luncheon for metro area leaders and emerging leaders in government, business and community organizations. Mayors from each of our 10 cities are each given the opportunity to brief attendees during lunch on accomplishments from the previous year; and provide insights to their municipal legislative agendas for the next.

Leadership NEJC Graduation – Moved to 2022

Leadership NEJC is a premier regional leadership program dedicated to connecting communities, building relationships and growing business. Held annually from January to May, the program has graduated over 500 well-connected and involved community and business leaders. This annual event highlights class achievements and features a keynote from a regional leadership expert.

SMSD State of the School District – August 19

A crucial component to publicly funded education is ensuring that community stakeholders are informed on the performance and effectiveness of schools and programs. This annual event features special updates from SMSD key leadership on the state of the district for the current school year.

These events are held, as requested, to provide opportunities for members to celebrate their recent membership into the Chamber, groundbreaking, grand opening, new location/expansion, renovation/remodel, business, milestone anniversary, or to simply heighten public awareness of their organization. Ribbon cuttings are complimentary for members celebrating openings, new locations/expansions, and renovations/remodels.

Quarterly Direct Mail Packet

Your message*, delivered to decision-makers. Promote your organization directly to over 350 NEJC business leaders with the Chamber’s quarterly direct mail packet. This is your chance to highlight what you do to an audience that pays attention. Limited number of spaces available per mailing. Packets sent each March, June, September and December.

Committee Membership

The Annual Gala

The Annual Gala is the Chamber’s signature event each year. The committee works on the concept and details of the Gala, securing sponsorships and auction item donations, as well as inviting Chamber members and the community to attend this signature event. The Annual Gala Committee meets from March to November.

Golf Classic

The Golf Classic Committee plans the Chamber’s Annual Golf Classic that is held during the summer months. Committee members secure sponsorship and prizes for the tournament, invite Chamber members to participate as golfers and volunteers and manage all details of the day’s events. This committee meets from January to June.

Legislative Affairs

The Legislative Committee meets to discuss issues for the upcoming legislative session and establishes a legislative agenda to communicate to our elected officials. The committee continues to serve as a voice on legislative issues for area businesses throughout the year. This committee primarily meets around the legislative session from November to April.

Leadership NEJC Advisory

The Leadership NEJC Advisory Committee assists in promoting the program, referring qualified applicants, recommending curriculum, and supporting the program facilitator at designated sessions. You must be a past graduate of the Leadership Northeast program to be eligible to be on this committee.
