A FIRST FOR JOHNSON COUNTY CHAMBERS

In 2019, the Northeast Johnson County (NEJC) Chamber of Commerce will further enhance Leadership NEJC  with full program accreditation by Johnson County Community College (JCCC). Graduates of the Leadership NEJC Program can now earn an NEJC Chamber Business Leadership Certificate and up to 8 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from JCCC. Participants will be dual-enrolled in the leadership program and at JCCC in order to transcript the credits earned through Leadership NEJC. LEADERSHIP NEJC TURNS 30 IN 2019

Leadership NEJC is a premier regional leadership program offered annually by the NEJC Chamber from January to May. Leadership NEJC fosters crucial skills through various workshops, hands-on experiences, community involvement, and interaction with key leaders in the community. To date, Leadership NEJC has graduated over 500 well-connected and engaged leaders who have gone on to serve their organizations, neighborhoods, and in city and state government. Apply below to be a part of the 30th graduating class in 2019.

2019 COMMITMENT & TENTATIVE SESSION DATES

Successful outcomes of Leadership NEJC depend on your commitment to the program and your fellow participants. The program runs annually from January through May and requires participation in 10 full day sessions, one 1/2 day graduation and one class community service project. Participants must be present for 80% of the program to graduate with the leadership certificate. Tentative session dates for 2019 are:

January 9, January 23, February 6, February 20, March 5, March 20, April 3, April 17, May 1, and May 16 Graduation (1/2 day)
Community Service Project – TBD

Scholarship Opportunities

The Leadership NEJC Scholarship Fund was established by the class of 2016 to offer tuition assistance for eligible participants in LNE. Scholarships are awarded based on demonstrated community service, financial need and an express interest in identifying and strengthening personal leadership skills to serve throughout Northeast Johnson County. Leadership NEJC Application

APPLICATIONS FOR THE UPCOMING CLASS ARE DUE BY OCTOBER 1 EACH YEAR. Upon review by the Leadership NEJC Selection Committee of all eligible applications, the incoming class will be announced.
